This pivotal role focuses on providing high-quality care and support in a dynamic, non-remote healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will be a vital team member in our fast-paced setting, where high patient volumes require efficiency, precision, and a warm, attentive approach to pediatric care.

The available position is not remote, ensuring our staff delivers immediate and hands-on care to our patients. As a Pediatric Medical Assistant at Agave Pediatrics, you will work closely with our pediatricians to manage and deliver excellent healthcare, fostering a supportive and healing atmosphere for our young patients and their families.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • HIGH VOLUME PATIENT INTERACTION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE: Serve as a friendly and knowledgeable point of contact for patients and families.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Manage booking appointments efficiently, maintaining a seamless schedule.
  • Medical Chart Management (eClinicalWorks EMR): Update and maintain electronic medical records with precision.
  • Check In/Out: Handle patient check-in and check-out processes smoothly and courteously.
  • Front Desk Duties: Perform essential reception tasks to support patient needs and clinic operations.
  • Daily Opening and Closing Responsibilities: Prepare the office each day and securely close operations after-hours.
  • Strong Phone Etiquette: Communicate effectively over the phone, providing clear and concise information.
  • Patient Rooming: Manage the flow of patients into and out of consultation rooms, ensuring comfort and privacy.
  • Basic In-Office Labs: Conduct basic laboratory tasks under the guidance of medical professionals.
  • Vaccine Administration: Administer vaccinations as per physician orders and schedules.
  • Triage Phone Calls: Prioritize incoming calls based on urgency and direct them accordingly.
  • Some Saturdays Required: Willingness to work some Saturdays to meet patient needs and staffing requirements.
Requirements
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-paced Office: Must have the capacity to keep up with a high-speed environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Multi-tasking Skills: Strong capability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Open Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with colleagues, patients, and families.
  • Experience with Insurance: Familiarity with handling insurance-related tasks is advantageous.
  • Bilingual Preferred: While not a requirement, being bilingual is preferable for communication with a diverse patient base.
  • Minimum 1 Year Experience as a Medical Assistant: Preferably with relevant experience in pediatric settings, though not strictly required.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma: Must be able to provide proof of education via a Medical Assistant diploma.
