The Thacher School
Assistant Varsity Coach

Department: Athletics
Position: Assistant Varsity Coach
Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt, Staff, Non Housed
Start Dates: Various

The Thacher School seeks a qualified and experienced assistant coach for the following sports:

  •  Football- Runs from late August through October with the first week off in September when the school camps (potential to extend if the team reaches the CIF Playoffs)
  • Girls Lacrosse - Runs February 8-May 7 (potential to extend if the team reaches the CIF Playoffs) with two and a half weeks off for Spring Break in early March.
  • Boys Tennis - Runs February 8-May 7 (potential to extend if the team reaches CIF playoffs) with two and a half weeks off for Spring Break in early March. 
  • Boys Soccer - Runs November 2-February 5 (potential to extend if the team reaches the CIF Playoffs). Off Thanksgiving week and two and a half weeks for Winter Break at the end of December. 
  • Girls Soccer - Runs November 2-February 5 (potential to extend if the team reaches the CIF Playoffs). Off Thanksgiving week and two and a half weeks for Winter Break at the end of December. 
Ideal candidates will possess a passion for coaching and player development, a strong knowledge of the game, as well as
the ability to coach students of various skill levels at the same time. Previous experience working with 14–17-year-olds is
preferred. The positions reports to the Head Coach of each sport.
Importantly, candidates should also present a record of commitment and competency relating to engaging with students and colleagues in a diverse community, advancing the design of culturally responsive curricula, and promoting equity and belonging for all, both in and out of the classroom. Compensation is commensurate with experience and highly competitive.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is approximately $2500-$3500 for each season. Final salary is based on experience relevant to the role and internal equity.
