Center Assistant (Part-Time) - Sylvan Learning of Glendora
Sylvan Learning of Glendora is seeking a motivated, energetic, and organized individual to join our team as a Center Assistant. In this role, you'll support our Center Directors with administrative and customer service tasks, while also helping tutors prepare for and deliver instruction.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and families, and who may be considering a future career in education.
Position Details:
  • Part-time role - Set schedule! 22-25 hours weekly guaranteed (except major holidays)
  • Afternoon/evening availability required
    • Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2:30-7pm and Saturdays 9am-12:30pm
  • Some Saturday mornings required
  • Starting pay: $18/hour
  • Sick pay available
  • Training provided
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support: phone reception, data entry, word processing, filing, and other office tasks
  • Greet and assist students, parents, and visitors, delivering outstanding customer service at all times
  • Handle inquiry calls from prospective families and support scheduling of assessments, tours, and conferences
  • Manage appointment scheduling and assist with changes for current families
  • Support Center Directors with billing, payments, supply management, and maintaining a professional center environment
  • Assist in preparing materials for parent conferences, assessments, and instruction
  • Help ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment for students
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (in-person, phone, and written)
  • Solid administrative skills, including word processing and data entry
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, flexible, and dependable work ethic
  • High school diploma required; some college preferred
  • Availability on weekday afternoons/evenings and some Saturday mornings
  • Most of all - LOVES KIDS!
