At AFL, our Recruiters are responsible for providing full life-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, assessing, and referring applicants for all professional opportunities across the US AFL footprint.  He/She will analyze the information provided on a prospective employee’s application form and conduct a personal interview to determine the suitability of the applicant for referral to the hiring manager. 

Responsibilities

  • Supports AFL facilities across the US footprint in recruiting all manufacturing, technical and professional based staffing needs.
  • Write interesting, dynamic job postings that not only clearly communicate job requirements but also highlight the benefits of each position
  • Partners with hiring managers and functional managers to source and prescreen candidates
  • Source qualified passive candidates through social media, job boards and professional networking platforms.
  • Review resumes and determine qualifications of candidates through a screening process.
  • Track each candidate’s progress through our pre-employment process using our Applicant Tracking System (UKG).
  • Works with colleges and universities to build successful pipelines of talent in areas of focus for AFL businesses.
  • Manages our external supplement staffing and headhunter relationships to ensure full-service support to our hiring managers.
  • Build strong working relationships with hiring managers.
  • Stay up-to-date and build knowledge of recruiting practices, employment law and industry and share the information with your fellow team members.
  • Schedules and conducts interviews, coordinates job offers and ultimately fills open positions
  • Support and conduct job fairs and recruitment/marketing activities
  • Partner with the Manager, Talent Development and Training to devise new recruiting strategies and identify new recruiting resources if needed.
  • Routinely evaluate processes to optimize efficiency, transparency, consistency
  • Seek ways to enhance and consistently deliver excellent customer service to hiring managers and candidates
  • Interfaces with other HR departments (i.e. benefits, compensation, employee relations, payroll, etc.) to ensure compliance and process efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or some other filed preferred; Associate’s degree and commensurate experience required.
  • 7+ years of experience in Recruiting preferred
  • 5+ years of manufacturing organization experience in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain or Technical related field preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interviewing, evaluation and assessment skills
  • Experience with ATS and HRIS systems (UKG/UltiPro preferred)

  • Superb attention to detail and good record keeping skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Team player; high level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated professionalism, poise, tact and diplomacy
