Job Title-Respiratory Therapist - NICU/PEDS
Location-Winston-Salem, NC 27157
Shift- Night Shift
6:30 PM– 07:00 AM
Facility Type-Level 1 Trauma Designation
Required

NICU/Peds RT: NC license, RRT and BLS, PALS, NRP.
ASAP Starts Prioritized
About Facility:
o 885 licensed beds
o Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center
o Chest Pain Center
o Stroke Center
Department Information:
o Census? Average patients/day? Respiratory Therapists would be assigned to an appropriate patient care workload whether it be ICU areas or Medical/Surgical floors based on the needs of the department.
o Minimum Years of Experience required? Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy critical care experience.
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, we would consider.
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Varies based on workload – post-surgical, pneumonia, COPD, Asthma, etc. ED patients.
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
o Adult RT: NC license, RRT and BLS, ACLS
o NICU/Peds RT: NC license, RRT and BLS, PALS, NRP.
CRT is not preferred but acceptable.
Skills required:
o Critical Care experience required. Previous experience in a Level 1 trauma center and/or high acuity organizations (preferred).
Support within the Department:
o Lead Therapists on each shift, both Adult and Pediatric Lead Therapist with a teamwork mindset of the entire team.
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o Department specific Equipment: Preferred experience with equipment we use – Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, and cough assist. If working in pediatrics preferred to also have HFJV and HFOV experience.
Floating: If yes, where?
o No, will be based on traveler's experience/unit needs and assigned appropriately.
Orientation (facility and unit):
o NEO
o 1-2 days departmental –
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: Every other
o On call? If so, what is that schedule? No on-call required
o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
o RTO: Manager approval
o Shift time: 18:30 – 0700.
o Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks

o Scrub Color: Pewter (charcoal grey)
o Parking: Free
o Department Culture: Excellent teamwork demonstrated among the team, which includes many members and leaders with extensive tenure and experience.
