Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital in Rhinelander, WI is seeking a RESPIRATORY THERAPY ASSISTANT to join our RESPIRATORY THERAPY team!

The Respiratory Therapy Assistant provides respiratory and cardiopulmonary assessment, monitoring, diagnostic, and therapy services under medical direction to patients in a variety of care environments. This person assists licensed respiratory care practitioner (RCP) under their direct, immediate, and on- premises supervision. S/he assists in educating the public regarding respiratory disease and care. Provides respiratory care to patients of all ages, including pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Interprets patient information and understands treatment needs depending on the age of patients under care. Whenever applicable, demonstrates understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of their physical and motor development, psychosocial development and intellectual/language development.

HOURS: .001 FTE/Occasional hours; schedule to be determined around student availability and department need

Experience/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of respiratory care standards and protocols is normally acquired through active attendance as a senior student in an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care.

  • Experience in clinical healthcare beneficial.

  • Current BLS certification

  • Active membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care, experience with electrocardiography, arterial monitoring and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) beneficial
