Through architecture, engineering, planning, and consulting, we partner with clients to create thoughtful, practical solutions that leave communities stronger than we found them.

If you want your work to matter, and to be surrounded by smart, collaborative people who care about doing things the right way, you’ll feel at home here.

Who We Are:

PRIME AE Group, Inc. (www.primeeng.com) is a nationally ranked, full-service architecture and engineering firm driven by collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to strengthening the communities we serve. With a growing footprint of offices across the country and a diverse team of more than 550 professionals, we partner with public and private sector clients to deliver thoughtful, high-impact solutions across transportation, education, healthcare, municipal, federal, commercial, and recreational markets.

Our culture blends entrepreneurial energy with the resources of a scaled, multidisciplinary platform—giving our people the opportunity to shape meaningful projects while influencing the future direction of the firm. As PRIME AE continues to expand its capabilities, geographic reach, and leadership bench, this is an exciting time to join a team that is building momentum, investing in growth, and empowering leaders to make a lasting impact.

The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an accomplished Sr. Traffic Project Manager to join our Columbus or Akron offices and lead high-impact traffic engineering projects across Ohio.

In this role, you will take ownership of project delivery while helping grow PRIME AE’s traffic engineering presence in the Ohio market. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and deliver innovative traffic and transportation solutions that improve mobility and safety.

This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Ohio PE with strong experience in ODOT projects who is ready to combine technical leadership, project management, and client engagement in a highly visible role.

What You'll Do:

As a Sr. Traffic Project Manager, you will lead the planning, analysis, and design of traffic engineering projects while managing project teams, budgets, and schedules. You will serve as a key point of contact for clients and play an active role in business development and practice growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage traffic engineering projects from concept through final design and construction support.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of design engineers and technical staff.
  • Develop scope, schedule, and fee proposals for traffic and transportation projects.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and financial performance.
  • Perform and oversee traffic analysis and design, including traffic studies, signal design, signing and pavement marking, MOT, and safety improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with ODOT standards, specifications, and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with subconsultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
  • Provide quality control for project deliverables including plans, specifications, and reports.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff and support team growth.
  • Serve as a primary client contact, leading meetings, presentations, and ongoing communication.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
  • Participate in industry organizations and represent PRIME AE in the Ohio transportation market.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE required; MSCE preferred).
  • Active Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in traffic engineering and project management.
  • Strong experience with ODOT projects, including preliminary and final design.
  • Demonstrated experience in traffic analysis, design, and project delivery.
  • Experience supporting construction phase services and reviewing shop drawings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results.
  • Experience with client engagement and business development is strongly preferred.

Why PRIME AE?

We don’t just offer jobs—we build careers. At PRIME AE, you’ll find a culture of support, flexibility, and opportunity. You’ll work on impactful projects that improve daily life, alongside colleagues who inspire and challenge you. Whether you’re advancing your technical skills or growing as a leader, we’re committed to helping you succeed.

  • Full-Career Support: Flexible career paths across disciplines, from technical specialist to project leadership.
  • People-First Culture: We hire top talent, champion diversity, trust, and integrity.
  • Meaningful Impact: Work on projects—from community centers and hospitals to federal, transportation, and water systems—that tangibly improve lives.
  • Growth-Oriented: Strategically expanding capabilities and geography (e.g., Southeast acquisition, federal growth) with strong backing from investors.
  • National Yet Local: Enjoy the resources of a big firm with the agility and client intimacy of local offices.
