We are currently looking for a Director- Marketing & Optimization in our Houston, TX office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • Contribute to operation of BWP Pipeline and Storage systems in a safe and reliable manner by keeping System Planning and Optimization appraised of Short-Term Pricing Desk activities that may result in significant change to pipeline operations. Adhere to FERC guidelines and BWP Standards of Conduct and Business Practices covering Marketing & Optimization Desk activities. Periodic review of various Marketing & Optimization Desk processes with Regulatory Compliance group.
  • Meet or achieve annual Revenue Plans for FSS, PAL, FTS, STF and ITS for assigned primary operating companies.
  • Contribute to non-primary operating companies' Revenue Plans through developing required back-up skills required for those assets.
  • Optimize PAL revenues for assigned operating companies through correct execution timing decisions and portfolio schedule. Utilize analytical data, weather forecast and system operating conditions as part of the decision-making process and participate in morning group decisions to formulate unified daily trading strategies.
  • Remarket expiring FSS at or above market levels. Continual refinement of storage valuation tools to improve market analysis with changing market conditions. Anticipate changing customers' needs and develop new solutions and products to address those needs.
  • Generate incremental revenue by identifying and securing market opportunities that optimize pipeline assets.
  • Value, negotiate and market short-term capacity and services, including Short-Term Firm, Interruptible

Transportation, Firm and Interruptible Storage and Park and Loan services.
  • Value and market unsubscribed Firm Transportation (FTS and STF) on a short-term and seasonal basis extracting market value or above.
  • Market unused pipeline capacity using Interruptible Transportation on a daily and monthly basis to fully optimize pipeline capacity and capture incremental markets.
  • Assume leadership role in handling specific delegated tasks.
  • Participate in the development of key skills within the Marketing & Optimization Desk: relationship building with our Marketers/Banks customer group, negotiations, strategic thinking, financial analysis, gathering of market intelligence from customer peers and their leadership.
  • Be aware of the changing market dynamics of our business and identify emerging opportunities and threats.
  • Support the advancement of technology/innovation to create new tools or improve existing tools for decision making on revenue generating opportunities.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
  • In-depth knowledge of the natural gas industry
  • Understanding of natural gas cash pricing, basis differentials and futures markets and how these influence the valuation of pipeline and storage capacity.
  • Understanding of our customers' use of financial swaps and how they impact the valuation of our services
