Allen Media Group is seeking an exceptional strategic thinker to join our National Advertising Sales organization asDirector, Strategic Insights & Advertising Research.

This highly visible role sits at the intersection of advertising sales, audience intelligence, measurement innovation, consumer insights, and marketplace strategy. This individual will partner closely with executive sales leadership to transform data into compelling stories that drive advertiser investment across Allen Media Group's expanding portfolio, including The Weather Channel, Local Now, HBCU GO, CBS Late Night programming, local television stations, digital platforms, and strategic partnerships.

This is far more than a traditional research role. We're looking for a business strategist who combines analytical expertise with exceptional storytelling skills to influence sales strategy, shape marketplace positioning, and help define the future of advertising measurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop compelling marketplace positioning that differentiates Allen Media Group and creates competitive advantage.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to support upfronts, scatter, new business, client pitches, and cross-platform advertising initiatives.
  • Deliver proactive category, consumer, and advertiser insights that help advertising sales win new business and grow existing partnerships.
  • Design and execute custom research, campaign effectiveness studies, and advertiser case studies that demonstrate measurable ROI.
  • Lead and develop relationships with key measurement and research partners including Nielsen, VideoAmp, Comscore, MRI-Simmons, YouGov, and other emerging platforms.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, consumer behavior, and evolving media measurement to keep our organization ahead of the marketplace.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Planning, Programming, Product, and Executive Leadership to develop data-driven revenue strategies.
  • Create thought leadership presentations, white papers, and executive reports, and represent Allen Media Group's position within industry conferences and trade shows.
  • Identify innovative research methodologies and emerging technologies, including AI-driven analytics, that enhance sales effectiveness and advertiser value.
Qualifications
  • 8-12+ years of experience in advertising sales research, audience insights, media analytics, or strategic planning within television, streaming, digital, or cross-platform media.
  • Strong understanding of television, streaming, CTV, digital, social, and cross-platform measurement.
  • Expertise with industry tools such as Nielsen, VideoAmp, MRI-Simmons, Comscore, and related syndicated research platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to transform complex data into persuasive, executive-level presentations and sales narratives.
  • Experience managing custom research projects from concept through client presentation.
  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Looker.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • This position requires a minimum of three days a week in the NYC office.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Experience

Experience with advanced advertising, attribution, audience targeting, campaign measurement, AI-enabled analytics, retail media, and cross-platform measurement solutions is highly desirable.
