Job Description
Position Title: Director of Marketing and Communications
Easterseals Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to oversee integrated marketing campaigns, donor and event communications, social media strategy, media relations, content creation, and brand management. Working within the Development and Marketing team, and closely with program leadership, this role helps translate mission into message and impact into action. The position will report to the Chief Development and Marketing Officer.
Essential Duties/Functions:
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive organization-wide marketing and communications calendar aligned with fundraising, programs, events, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead strategy and execution for integrated fundraising and awareness campaigns across digital, print, email, website, and social channels.
  • Create compelling campaign messaging and donor-centered storytelling that drives engagement and revenue.
  • Partner with the Development and Marketing team to support fundraising priorities, donor engagement, stewardship, and acquisition efforts.
  • Lead the development of high-quality stories and content highlighting participants, families, alumni, staff, donors, and community impact.
  • Develop and maintain organizational messaging frameworks, key messages, talking points, and storytelling guidelines to ensure consistency across audiences and channels.
  • Work across the organization to source stories, program updates, photos, and impact data.
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to elevate Ambassador Program stories for external audiences.
  • Oversee the creation and production of: Monthly email newsletters, quarterly print newsletters, campaign materials and appeals, website content, event collateral and stewardship and donor communications.
  • Manage strategy and execution for all external email communications, including donor appeals, newsletters, event marketing, stewardship.
  • Lead marketing and communications for all fundraising events and participant communications.
  • Partner with development operations to optimize CRM-driven communication strategies and audience targeting.
  • Develop and execute an organization-wide social media strategy across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and emerging channels.
  • Manage content calendars, posting schedules, audience engagement, and performance analytics.
  • Oversee paid digital and social campaigns as appropriate.
  • Develop strategies to increase awareness, audience growth, engagement, and conversion.
  • Develop and implement annual communications strategies that advance organizational awareness, reputation, and strategic priorities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries and external communications opportunities
  • Manage external media relations efforts, including media outreach, press releases, public announcements, and story pitching.
  • Serve as a key steward of the organization's public-facing voice and reputation.
  • Identify and secure speaking opportunities, community partnerships, and public engagement opportunities that increase awareness of Easterseals and its mission.
  • Ensure consistent brand standards, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms and materials.
  • Serve as a steward of organizational voice, messaging, and brand standards across all public-facing communications.
  • Oversee design and creative development for campaigns, events, donor communications, website updates, and marketing collateral.
  • Manage external creative vendors including designers, photographers, videographers, printers, and marketing consultants as needed.
  • Oversee website content strategy, updates, and optimization.
  • Manage campaign landing pages and donation page content to improve engagement and conversion.
  • Partner with organizational leadership to identify and communicate strategic priorities, organizational achievements, and community impact.
  • Partner closely with Development, Programs, Internal Communications, HR, and Leadership to align organizational messaging and priorities.
  • Support organizational events, campaigns, announcements, and strategic initiatives with coordinated marketing and communications efforts.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on impact and growth.
  • Co-lead and manage the Marketing Committee in partnership with the Chief Development & Marketing Officer, helping to establish annual priorities, engage committee members in strategic initiatives, and leverage volunteer expertise to advance organizational awareness, engagement, and fundraising goals.
  • Track and analyze key marketing and communications metrics including email performance, social engagement, website traffic, campaign performance, and audience growth.
  • Prepare reports and updates for leadership as needed.

Non-essential duties/functions:
  • Ensure communications are segmented, branded, timely, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Manage organizational updates.
  • Support executive communications, including leadership messaging, public statements, speeches, remarks, op-eds, and talking points as needed.
  • Coordinate communications plans for major organizational announcements, milestones, campaigns, partnerships, and special initiatives.
  • Cultivate relationships with local and regional media outlets.
  • Identify opportunities for thought leadership, community visibility, and earned media.
  • Support participation in community events, advocacy initiatives, and regional networking opportunities.
  • Position organizational leaders, ambassadors, families, and program experts as trusted voices in disability services, education, early intervention, and inclusion.
  • Develop processes for review and approval of public-facing materials.
  • Ensure website content remains current, mission-focused, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on impact and growth.
  • Use data and insights to refine strategies and improve effectiveness.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field preferred.
โ€ข 5-8+ years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, or nonprofit development.
โ€ข Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
โ€ข Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns and content strategies.
โ€ข Strong understanding of social media, email marketing, digital communications, and brand management.
โ€ข Experience with media relations and public communications.
โ€ข Experience working with CRM and email marketing platforms preferred.
โ€ข Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
โ€ข Collaborative, creative, strategic, and solutions-oriented mindset.
โ€ข Must be proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft and related systems.
