Job description

Overview

There are 400,000 HVAC techs in the US solving complex problems with barely any tools, zero information, and no help around. For years, tech companies have tried to "fix" the trades by building software for people they clearly never met. So Bluon went the other way.

We built the industry's largest HVAC parts and equipment database and wired it together with our proprietary AI tech support platform. It took off. Tens of thousands of technicians use our platform to finish their jobs faster and more accurately, on their first visit. And now, we are looking for a rockstar to continue growing with us.

We're hiring a highly organized, detail-oriented Marketing Manager to build, run, and ship the content that brings Bluon's value to life across advertising, email, SMS, in-app messaging, and automation workflows - from the first ad a contractor ever sees to the moment a five-year customer renews.

The fun part is that this industry might be one of the most marketing-resistant audiences on earth. Ever try to get an HVAC technician or plumber to listen to a sales pitch? They can tell from a mile away, and they aren’t afraid to tell you off.

We'll be honest: this is not a typical marketing role. You're working with a tough audience in a tough industry, and that's exactly why this opportunity is so big. If you can crack the code on messaging to blue-collar workers, the most anti-marketing people in the world, you can take on anything.

You'll learn the industry's lexicon and speak as a trusted ally to technicians, service managers, procurement professionals, and business owners, helping them work smarter and more confidently. You'll weigh new business and existing-customer engagement, equally leaning on the world’s best domain data throughout: tracking what works, spotting trends, and running A/B tests to make every message sharper.

Location: Remote

Reports to: President

Department: Marketing & Customer Experience

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Coordination

  • Build and run a unified communications strategy across the full customer journey – prospecting, acquisition, account management, and technician engagement.
  • Align communications with company goals, campaigns, and revenue initiatives, and build lifecycle programs that engage, retain, and educate.
  • Own the content calendar, channel trackers, and A/B-test roadmap that keep operations on schedule.
  • Ensure seamless handoffs between automated and human-driven outreach across sales, marketing, and account management.

Content Creation & Production

  • Write and edit content for lead nurturing, onboarding, upselling, retention, advertising, updates, and new product/feature releases in a voice that resonates with HVAC technicians, service managers, and business owners.
  • Build and maintain audience segments that power personalization across channels.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Revenue Operations to ensure messaging supports each team's goals and to execute campaigns and automated workflows.
  • Partner with Product to refine in-app messaging and engagement loops.
  • Own content end-to-end while producing, approving, and delivering each piece on schedule, including product videos and marketing graphics from idea to final delivery.
  • Maintain quality, coherence, and creativity across channels.
  • Collaborate with partners on co-branded content where the fit is right.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Report on KPIs across channels and build tight feedback loops to improve open rates, click-throughs, engagement, conversion, and retention.
  • Run multiple A/B tests to identify trends and roll winners into ongoing improvements across channels.
  • Analyze marketing data to measure efficacy, surface trends, and turn insights into actionable next steps.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in marketing or communications with proven B2B success.
  • Experience in blue-collar industries (HVAC, other skilled trades, construction) strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to create and execute multi-channel communication strategies that drive measurable growth.
  • Deep understanding of lead nurturing, customer lifecycles, and audience segmentation.
  • Exceptional writing skills with an authentic, conversational voice that resonates in the trades.
  • Proficiency with CRM and automation platforms such as HubSpot and Zapier, plus hands-on A/B testing and analytics experience.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented - able to juggle multiple projects, tests, and deadlines without dropping a thread.
  • Content production skills with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar.

Success Measures

  • Increased user activity and engagement
  • Reduced account churn
  • Higher email and advertising engagement
  • Higher prospect-to-demo conversion rates
  • Positive internal and external feedback on clarity, tone, and impact of communications.
  • Scalable communication processes that improve efficiency and consistency company-wide.
  • Content is consistently created, tested, and shipped on schedule across channels.

Why You'll Love This Role

Your words will directly impact real technicians doing hard work in the field every day. When your messaging works, they waste less time, earn more money, are less frustrated, and most importantly, can get back home to their families.

You'll define an authentic voice for an industry at the center of the shift to AI. This is a chance to build something genuinely different in the blue-collar space.

This is a place that moves. An idea on Monday is a result by Friday, and a win gets celebrated, not buried in a status report. You'll make a real impact from day one, and you'll have the room to chase value wherever it actually lives, not wherever the org chart says it should.

Compensation & Benefits

Bluon offers competitive compensation, with equity participation, flexible remote work, and growth opportunities in a fast-evolving company.
