Your Role:  Tetra Tech, Inc. is looking for qualified unexploded ordnance (UXO) Technician III on a part time as needed basis.

ResponsibilitiesSupervise and perform the on-site demilitarization of munitions of explosive concern (MEC), and handling of demolition materials.

  • Prepare an explosives storage plan per all applicable guidance.
  • Prepare required UXO munitions response actions and/or range maintenance administrative reports.
  • Prepare standard operating procedures for on-site munitions responses and/or for range clearance activities.
  • Assist in performing risk and hazards analyses.
  • Conduct daily site safety briefings.
  • Supervise the conduct of all on-site UXO-related operations; and
  • Inspect and certify and/or verify Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH) as safe, or as to the explosive hazard it may present for transfer within Department of Defense (DoD) or release from DoD control per current policies and standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Individual must have OSHA 40-hour training in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and be in the medical monitoring program prior to starting on-site work.
  • Individual must meet the requirements for the UXO Technician level as stated in current version of DDESB TP-18.

Education & Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The individual must be a graduate of a qualified UXO School and must have 8 years prior military EOD and/or commercial UXO experience in terrestrial munitions response actions or range clearance activities, as required by the Dept. of Defense Explosive Safety Board.
