Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located at our main campus in Red Hook, Dutchess County, NY, this position is responsible for providing direction and mentorship to Residential staff relative to behavioral strategies. The Behavior Specialist reinforces clinical plans and skills through mentorship, and by role modeling effective strategies and skills. They will encourage and reinforce positive behavior, as well as implement creative and corrective procedures to promote growth and development of residents. The Behavior Specialist will aid in training direct care staff in implementation of student plans and will be a certified trainer for residential staff.
Salary: (commensurate with education and experience)
With HS Diploma/GED: $21.50 - $23.00 per hour
With BA/BS: $22.50 - $24.07 per hour
With MA/MS or higher: $23.50 - $25.14 per hour

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Two years of progressively responsible positions in a residential setting that programs for the same populations (age, diagnosis, etc.)
