Digital Media and Creative Technology Program Youth Justice and Education Services Statewide Connecticut Residential Programs ACES Youth Justice and Education Services is seeking a creative and engaging Graphic Design and Adobe Instructor to provide hands on digital media, design, and workforce readiness instruction to youth in small classroom settings within residential facilities throughout Connecticut. This position focuses on helping students develop technical design skills, creative problem solving abilities, and career connected experiences aligned with the digital arts and creative technology industries. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, mentorship, creativity, and empowering youth through project based learning and industry relevant digital media experiences.

Position Responsibilities โ€ข Deliver instruction in graphic design, digital media, and Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and related software โ€ข Teach youth in small group residential and alternative education settings โ€ข Develop engaging, hands on projects focused on branding, digital illustration, marketing materials, photography, video production, and multimedia design โ€ข Introduce students to creative technology career pathways and workforce readiness skills โ€ข Maintain accurate attendance, instructional, and student progress records โ€ข Foster a positive and structured classroom environment utilizing trauma informed and restorative practices โ€ข Collaborate with educational staff, residential personnel, behavioral support teams, and administrators โ€ข Support students in developing portfolios and creative projects that demonstrate skill growth and achievement โ€ข Ensure safe and responsible use of technology and digital resources โ€ข Travel to residential facilities throughout the state of Connecticut as assigned Required Qualifications โ€ข Experience in graphic design, digital media, visual communications, or creative technology fields โ€ข Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign โ€ข Strong communication, classroom management, and relationship building skills โ€ข Experience teaching or mentoring youth preferred โ€ข Valid driver's license and reliable transportation โ€ข Ability to pass all required background and clearance checks Preferred Qualifications โ€ข Adobe Certified Professional certification or related industry credentials โ€ข Experience teaching graphic design, multimedia production, photography, animation, or digital arts โ€ข Experience in residential, behavioral health, juvenile justice, or alternative education settings โ€ข Knowledge of trauma informed educational practices and restorative approaches โ€ข Experience with project based learning, makerspaces, or workforce development programming โ€ข Familiarity with video editing, social media content creation, branding, and digital storytelling Work Environment โ€ข Small classroom settings โ€ข Residential and secure treatment facilities โ€ข Collaborative multidisciplinary educational teams โ€ข Opportunities to positively impact youth through creative expression and workforce connected learning About ACES Youth Justice and Education Services ACES Youth Justice and Education Services is dedicated to enhancing and transforming lives through education, innovation, leadership, and workforce development opportunities.
