Salary: $18.25/hour
Why you'll love this position:
Employees in this position serve a critical role in the foundation of Missouri's grain market by supporting the Marshall Grain Inspection office in certification, billing, and other administrative services. This part-time position has a flexible schedule and is performed primarily indoors in a controlled environment at our Marshall office.
Responsibilities - What you'll do
  • Receive on-the-job training in certification, billing, and administrative services
  • Prepare accurate & timely certificates, associated paperwork, and billing to customers
  • Coordinate with customers and other members of the public in a professional, polite manner including via email, telephone, and in person.
  • Maintain all required work records & grain samples for Field Office in accordance with FGIS and MDA retention policies.
  • Occasionally perform business-related errands throughout assigned territory; a state vehicle is provided for these tasks
  • Maintain vehicles, sampling and lab equipment, and work environments properly
  • Receive on-the-job training in basic FGIS technician procedures performed in-office, including falling number, protein, oil, and mycotoxins
  • On occasion, perform basic technician procedures
  • Perform other related work as assigned
This position reports to the Service Point Management team but works closely with the full time Administrative Support Assistant at the Marshall office.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications
  • Possess a valid Missouri Driver's License
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED/equivalent. Work experience may be substituted for deficiency in the required education.
  • At least 18 years old
  • Adapt to variable work schedules that occasionally include nights, weekends and holidays
  • Have consistent & reliable means of transportation, including occasionally in inclement weather
Preferred Qualifications
  • Work experience in Administrative Support or similar position
  • Training from an accredited vocational or business school in office management, secretarial science, or a closely related field
  • Familiarity with grain industry including crop insurance, grain handling, quality inspections, or basic laboratory procedures
Physical Considerations
  • Employees in this position must be able to:
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move boxes or products weighing up to 20 pounds across office for various needs.
  • Remain in a stationary position up to 100% of the time.
  • Frequently perform repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

  • Base rate of $18.25/hr + 1.5x overtime pay

Schedule
This position will include a combination of planned work and variable work on an as-needed basis. Most planned work occurs between 7 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday. The variable work will fluctuate and can include some nights & weekends. This is due to variations in customer needs, and the time-sensitive nature of our work. Timing of work in this position can be flexible, and supervisors work with employees based on their availability.
An example might be that the employee and their supervisor agree upon a recurring schedule for their planned work (ex: 7am to 3pm on Tuesday & Thursdays). Then, a time-sensitive customer task comes up on Friday and this employee is requested to come in to complete the task before 10am on Saturday. They could have the flexibility to choose to do this Friday afternoon, evening, or Saturday morning.
This position will also serve in a direct support role for our full-time Administrative Support Professional. At times where that employee is on leave, employees in this position would be requested to work additional hours as available.
THIS IS A PART-TIME NON-BENEFITED POSITION
This position cannot exceed 1000 hours annually.
