Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST (7.5 hours/day)
Position Overview
The Tennessee Department of Human Resources (DOHR) is seeking an entry-level Administrative Services Assistant to support conference and event planning activities within the Talent Management Center of Excellence. This role will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of conferences, workshops, meetings, and special events. The position works under immediate supervision and focuses on providing administrative and logistical support to ensure successful and engaging events.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing conferences, meetings, and special events
  • Schedule meetings, book venues, and coordinate vendors
  • Manage event registrations and maintain attendee records
  • Track event logistics, timelines, and deliverables
  • Support budget tracking and coordinate catering and event materials
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Provide administrative and operational support for event management
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, OR
  • Equivalent professional or administrative experience (may substitute education up to 4 years)
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and event logistics efficiently
