Job Title: Citizen Resource Generalist (Hybrid)

About This Role

Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. The Citizen Resources Generalist will have administrative responsibilities including assisting with training and development, leave and benefit administration, and administrative tasks assigned.

Responsibilities

Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time. We are a fast-growing company looking for people that are excited to grow along with us.

Responsible for document management in shared drives and in human resources information systems (HRIS); audits for accuracy and compliance.

Conduct employee orientations

Learning management system (LMS) administration for annual compliance and skill-based training.

Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as general policy inquiries, leaves, workers compensation and resolving any issues that may arise.

Maintain the CR Dashboard by gathering and analyzing data, such as retention and employee turnover rates.

Be the primary backup for payroll processing, including biweekly and semimonthly updates to employee files, timely and accurate time sheet approval, bonus/incentive pay, vacation pay, expense reimbursements, hourly-employee validations, and benefits changes.

Provide benefit and well-being education (coordinating open enrollment, vendor visits) as well as coordinating health clinics.

Handle all administrative tasks including unemployment claims, medical friend of the court requests, and verification of employment.

Responsible for all administrative tasks related to family medical leave and workers' compensation.

Assist with organizing quarterly and annual employee performance reviews.

Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, organizational chart, and contribute to policy development.

Administer surveys, exit interviews, and provide ideas to enhance employee engagement.

Support the planning of employee events and recognition programs.

Manage Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program and any community engagement events.

Travel to retail stores as needed.

The Experience You Bring and the Skills we Need:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field.

  • Proven success working in an HR department.

  • Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail.

  • 3-5 years of experience supporting HR related activities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.

  • Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.

  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary.

  • Knowledge of national laws and regulations related to employment.

  • This is a dynamic team, and as such daily tasks may vary, resulting in a fast-paced and lively work environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.

  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

  • Comfortable working in a greenhouse environment (tolerance of heat & humidity).
