Summary / Objective:
The Director / Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) reports to the Federal Practice Leader and holds a dual mandate that pairs client delivery leadership with practice-wide operational leadership. It is a Director-level, client-facing, billable role based in Washington, DC.
The Director's primary responsibility is to serve as the dedicated Project Manager and PMO Lead for a major client engagement. This is a full-time, hands-on role requiring sustained day-to-day focus, with the Director owning delivery, financial performance, risk management, and the client relationship from planning through execution.
In addition, the Director serves as the CAO for the Federal Practice, functioning as the central point of contact for the Federal practice and coordinating across practice leadership, engagement teams, and the Public Sector Services (PSS) Operations Team. In this capacity, the Director collaborates on financial management, resource management, recruiting, and related functions, and holds direct oversight of the practice's security and controller resources.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:

- Manage engagement economics, including work-in-process (WIP), billing, revenue recognition inputs, and forecasting, working closely with controller support
- Identify, track, and drive resolution of project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating to practice leadership as needed
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams and manage staffing and workload against engagement demands and deadlines
- Produce project reporting and dashboards for both the client and A&M leadership
- Maintain compliance with federal contract requirements applicable to the engagement (for example, FAR/DFARS, contract type, and deliverable acceptance)
Chief Administrative Officer (Federal Practice):
Serve as the central point of contact for the Federal Practice, coordinating closely with the PSS Operations Team, including the Chief Operations Officer (COO), Chief People Officer (CPO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Lead, Contracts and Risk Management Director, and Career Development Lead. The Director / CAO holds direct oversight of the practice's security and controller resources.
- Operational Oversight:
- Serve as the day-to-day operational lead for the Federal Practice, connecting practice leadership and engagement teams with PSS Operations and corporate functions

- Financial Management:
- Provide direct oversight of the practice's controller and billing specialist resources
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for the practice and its strategic engagements, providing strategic financial insight to leadership
