Administrative Assistant- First Baptist Church of South Richmond

Position Type: Part-time (15–20 hours per week)

Location: Onsite (One church, two locations) Richmond VA & Iron Bridge

Overview

Seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant with a proven track record of success and exceptional clerical, organizational and business experience. Talent professional who will facilitates the efficient operation of the Church Office.  Candidate would be responsible for daily office operations, a variety of clerical and confidential administrative tasks and projects.  Position reports to Executive Minister.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Advance understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, strong project management skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May direct the work of other clerical employees
  • May assist in training other staff and volunteers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Answers and transfers phone calls, screening when necessary.
  • Welcomes and directs visitors and clients.
  • Maintains filing systems as assigned.
  • Retrieves information as requested from records, email, minutes, and other related documents; prepares written summaries of data when needed.
  • Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions.
  • Coordinates and schedule travel, meetings, and appointments for management.
  • Prepares agendas and schedules for meetings.
  • Maintains office supplies and coordinates maintenance of office equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree in related field preferred and or experience equal to educational preference.
