Job description

Background & Purpose of the Job

A Supervisor is appointed for the administrative zone and is in full charge of it, including Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Accuracy. The Supervisor is responsible for everything that happens - or fails to happen - in his/her zone. The supervisor receives guidelines and daily instructions from the Shipping Administration manager and assigns the administrative workforce to accomplish these tasks.

Who You Are & What You'll Do:

  • Assignment of specific tasks to each employee
  • Scheduling and organizing work within the plan of the day
  • Reassignment of employees
  • Scheduling vacation and other absences from
  • Enforcing discipline
  • Communicating work-related information to assigned employees
  • Training and evaluating current and new employees
  • Keeping the department manager informed of problems
  • Ensuring that all paperwork is correctly filled out and schedules are updated with correct information
  • Ensuring that the generation and release of orders to the floor
  • Ensuring correct compliance labels are generated
  • Ensuring the department performs timely shipping, complete and scanning of Documents
  • Ensure 72-hour report is reviewed and addressed
  • Supporting the performance of the OSHA 18001 Safety System & ISO 14001 Environmental System
  • Ensure the department submits orders to customers for routine, liaises with carriers to schedule appointments

  • Gather data promptly to dispute and resolve customer chargeback

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Previous Supervisory experience, Tasks coordination or Project management
  • Transportation, Routing and TMS experience
  • Previous administrative experience
  • Previous Warehouse management system experience
  • SAP Experience

    Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in Business Administration or several years' administrative experience

    Personal characteristics:

  • Responsible; People oriented; Team player; Leader; Highly organized; Dependable; Reactive; Decisive; Motivated; Problem solving skills;
  • Strong communication skills; Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office skills)
  • Basic distribution knowledge
