Job description

Office Assistant/ Secretary
Responsibilities include:
  • Answer patients' inquiries, take referrals, and schedule home care visits.
  • Schedule and interview, and orient newly hired staff.
  • Develop strong and lasting relationships with referral sources and community resources.
  • Create, maintain, and continually update patients' and staff profiles, including documentation of patients' staffing needs based on established treatment plans.
  • Work closely with the Administrator and other professional staff to discuss scheduling activities.
  • Communicates regularly with staff through verbal, written, and individual meetings about their schedules and takes necessary action to accommodate staff schedule needs as necessary.
  • Occasionally visit primary physician offices to obtain necessary documentation, such as physician signatures on orders when requested by the Administrator and Medical Secretary, to comply with the regulatory bodies’ requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific qualifications for the position include:
  • Health-related care experience is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Required on-the-job training will be provided as necessary.
