Lids Sports Group is the largest licensed sports retailer in North America, selling fan and fashion-oriented headwear and apparel across the U.S. and abroad. Operating out of Indianapolis, IN, our retail stores offer officially licensed headwear and apparel from collegiate and professional sports teams, plus top brands like Nike, New Era, Adidas, and Mitchell & Ness.
We currently operate 1,300+ brick-and-mortar locations, including specialty concept stores for the NBA, NHL, Paris Saint-Germain, and the two largest MLB franchises via our Yankees and Dodgers Clubhouse stores. Lids has full partnerships and collaborations with iconic global brands, creating a community where sport, fashion, and culture collide.
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for administering travel and expense programs, managing accounts payable and receivable transactions, and supporting the timely and accurate recording of business expenses. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to support efficient financial operations.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Process invoices, payment requests, and expense reports accurately and within required timelines.
  • Maintain organized accounts payable records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and other finance-related administrative tasks.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal partners regarding payment status and discrepancies.
  • Support ongoing process improvement and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Qualifications
  • 1+ year of relevant accounting, finance, or accounts payable experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally stand and walk throughout the office.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to visually review electronic and written materials with attention to detail.
