POSITION PURPOSE: To ensure implementation and on-going development of a robust local implementation of the South Carolina ADEPT Teacher Evaluation System that complies with all state guidelines and regulations and supports improvement of teaching throughout the District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Serve as the primary district ADEPT liaison to the SC Department of Education.
  • Ensure dissemination of all current pertinent related information, practices and updates to applicable personnel according to job assignments and ADEPT related engagement activities (e.g. teachers, mentors, evaluators, administrators, trainers).
  • Inform other district-level department leaders of ADEPT related information that may impact or need to be considered in the development and implementation of other academic initiatives.
  • Coordinate collaborative work with the district-level mentoring team to facilitate similarly aligned ADEPT activities and transitional support primarily for Induction and Annual contract teachers and teachers at other contract levels, as determined necessary.
  • Ensure development, update, modification, monitoring, and school-level compliance reviews with district specific evaluation implementation requirements and timelines for teachers at each contract level and evaluation type.
  • Ensure the oversight of ADEPT evaluator trainers and provision of applicable training to all eligible, recommended certified personnel in an effort to establish and maintain an adequate pool of certified teacher evaluators, to include training of school and district-level administrators.
  • Maintain district ADEPT evaluator database, monitor evaluator certification status, and follow-up notification of the same to evaluators as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a cadre of trained and certified educators to serve as "external ADEPT evaluators" to be used throughout the District as necessary.
  • Facilitate and support the work of evaluation teams, principals, and appointed school-level ADEPT Liaisons in implementing teacher support and evaluation processes.
  • Train, monitor, and provide trouble-shooting to all applicable school and district-level personnel related to required use of the SCDE SCLEAD ADEPT evaluation documentation platform.
  • Collaborate with and relay all pertinent ADEPT related information, practices and updates to the locally district sponsored charter school, Riverview Charter, to help ensure proper implementation of the ADEPT system for teacher evaluation and certification purposes.
  • Collaborate with and relay all pertinent ADEPT related information, practices and updates to the locally district sponsored Beaufort-Jasper Academy for Career Excellence (BJACE), to help ensure proper implementation of the ADEPT system for teacher evaluation and certification purposes.
  • Collect data, prepare reports, review and submit required information to the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE).
  • Work collaboratively with the Human Resources Administrator to resolve any ADEPT related certification and employment issues.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Chief Administrative and Human Resources Officer, Superintendent, or his/her designee.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Chief Administrative and Human Resources Services Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator designated by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must hold or be eligible for a South Carolina Teaching Certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university required; master's degree preferred
  • Must have or be able to acquire ADEPT Trainer credential.

EXPERIENCE:
  • At least two years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience as an effective ADEPT TEAM evaluator.
  • Experience as a school-level or district-level administrator preferred.
