Job description

This role is based in Stamford, CT and will work a Monday-Friday schedule. 


This position will be responsible for the month end close process pertaining to Accounts Receivable and Net Revenue. Assisting with the Medicare, Medicaid, CT OHS, third-party cost reports, and other reporting. This position will be responsible for reviewing, maintaining and keeping management updated on all system, payor and internal issues that impact reimbursement. Work closely with Accounting, Managed Care, Patient Business Office, Clinical Operations, and other Partners. Will have an active role in the statistic/revenue budget development and monthly variance analysis. Responsible for running ad hoc reports from various systems

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for month end AR valuation, statistical reporting, and revenue results for hospital and medical group
  • Responsible for running ad hoc data analysis from the EMR, GL, and timekeeping system
  • Assisting in facilitation of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and audits
  • Oversees department operations and staff
  • Supervises and coordinates analyses required to complete the third party cost reports.
  • Assist in the yearly budget process for volume and revenue for the hospital and medical group
  • Assist in the evaluation of prorations and contract performance by government payors.
  • Perform special projects as requested by Finance leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, preferably MBA
  • 3-5 years of experience in a hospital Accounting or Finance Department with experience in revenue recognition and AR
  • Prior experience with hospital financial/billing/claims data
  • Proficient with importing and exporting large data files, and data analysis
  • Demonstrated abilities using Microsoft Excel and prior exposure to reimbursement.
  • Prior experience with Epic and Oracle a plus
