• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations for new clients, ensuring accurate documentation from the first interview through to discharge.
• Collaborate with clients to develop tailored treatment plans that consider their specific mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing a range of therapeutic techniques to promote mental wellness and recovery.
• Monitor and assess client progress throughout the treatment process, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies.
• Work closely with other mental health professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists, to create unified intervention plans.
• Provide follow-up care and support for clients transitioning from inpatient settings, ensuring continuity of care.
• Assist family members and primary caregivers by offering strategies to help manage their loved ones' mental health challenges.
• Proactively identify and address behaviors or situations that could hinder the recovery process.

This role focuses on a diverse patient population that includes individuals from various backgrounds experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and addiction disorders. You will cater to clients in different life stages, from adolescents to older adults, and develop culturally competent care strategies that respect and address the unique experiences of each client.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts.
• A passing score on either the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, characterized by empathy, patience, and a genuine connection with clients.

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, especially within a telehealth context.
• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Experience addressing co-occurring substance use issues and their impact on mental health.
• In-depth knowledge of pharmacological treatments prescribed by medical professionals and how these affect mental health.
