Senior People & Culture Coordinator

Job Description
Pay: $27-$31.25/hr
Hybrid: 3 days in-office/2 days remote
Job Summary:
The Senior People & Culture Coordinator is responsible for executing essential administrative and compliance processes. The P&C Coordinator has a strong working knowledge of a wide variety of HR topics, and a flexible problem-solving mindset to productively manage support tasks, contribute to a compliant and efficient HR function and serve as a reliable resource to employees in alignment with MBK polices, principles and core values.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee general inquiries via the HR shared inbox and collaborate with the appropriate team members for resolution.
  • Administer unemployment claims by collaborating with the involved parties, responding to all requests for information, preparing necessary documentation, and representing the company during unemployment hearings.
  • Ensure HR compliance by maintaining all electronic personnel records in adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, and assist with furnishing personnel files upon request.
  • Manage the distribution and upkeep of required labor law postings across all locations.
  • Partner with legal to compile all necessary personnel files and supporting documentation related to open matters.
  • Assist with the employee separation process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of terminations, coordinating exit communication to necessary parties, and assisting with the collection of equipment.
  • Collect, organize and distribute all HR related mail to the appropriate parties.
  • Monitor employee changes in Workday and process approvals in the system.
  • Assist with data entry in Workday, to include processing transfers, promotions, manager changes, and ad hoc corrections.
  • Complete quarterly org chart updates for senior leadership.
  • Generate routine and ad-hoc reports, presentations, and resources for management, as requested.
  • Assist with compliance and data audits to ensure legal compliance and data integrity.
  • Collaborate across departments to support HR programs and initiatives.
  • Understand and comply with Federal, State, and local regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Promote a spirit of teamwork and open communication through consistent coaching and recognition program utilization, in alignment with MBK principles and core values.
  • Perform other job duties or special projects as assigned or requested.

Education and Licenses/Certifications Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED), required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience, preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP, preferred.

Experience Requirements (in years):
  • 1+ years of experience within Human Resources performing similar job duties required.
  • 1+ years of experience with multi-site and multi-state workforces is preferred.
  • CA experience at a minimum is required.

Required Competencies:
  • Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and labor laws (e.g., FLSA, EEO, ADA, etc.).
  • Must demonstrate unwavering commitment to confidentiality and the ability to exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee information and ER matters.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using a PC, with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Email, etc.), with HRIS, preferably Workday and standard office equipment.
  • Must complete required Background clearances.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak, write and read English and the ability to articulate complex HR concepts clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
  • Must present a positive and professional image and possess a high degree of emotional intelligence with proven ability to interact tactfully and effectively with all levels of personnel, leadership, and visitors at all times.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with the proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated, demonstrating the ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, and move intermittently throughout the workday, in the corporate office or a community, and between neighborhoods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, as necessary.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for prolonged periods.
