Job description

Purpose:
The Transmission Coordinator is responsible for end-to-end planning of broadcast events for new and existing clients. The Transmission Coordinator should be able to assess a client's needs and match them with the most efficient and cost-effective manner, while managing the urgency that comes with working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
The Transmission Coordinator needs to be able to react quickly to ever-changing requirements and work closely with sales and operations departments to overcome challenges that may arise. The role will also undertake bookings and scheduling tasks working as part of the wider operational team, at times requiring the Transmission Coordinator to be responsible with securing price quotes from vendors, scheduling and planning events and ultimately overseeing the final billing process.
This position will report to VP Transmission Operations
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • The Transmission Coordinator will report to the VP Transmission Operations and will need to ensure that the expectations and needs of the VP Transmission Operations are met.
  • The Transmission Coordinator will be accountable for the management and coordination of events, liaising with clients and taking ownership for all parts of the planning process under the supervision of The Director of Operations
  • The Transmission Coordinator will work closely with organizing and approving freelancer invoices in a timely manner.
  • The Transmission Coordinator will need to be proficient in scheduling of internal and external resources within the VMS to include technical equipment, third party resources and personnel.
  • The Transmission Coordinator will be tasked to ensure that the most efficient and effective methods of delivery are assessed to meet customer requirements before anything is scheduled, striving for the best value for both client and NEP Connected Solutions.
  • The Transmission Coordinator will focus on Maximizing transmission resource utilization specifically: fiber, IP, & satellite capacity bookings for Domestic and International events
  • The Transmission Coordinator will focus on coordinating production resources and requirements such as mobile production units, crewing, independent production contractors, generators, and ancillary related services.
  • The Transmission Coordinator will be the lead assigned coordinator to packages and/or specific client accounts, required to manage all transmission and production requests, handling end-to-end scheduling, and executing all associated internal and client paperwork such as and not limited to
    • MLS
    • NWSL
    • USL
    • Ad-hoc Special Events

  • The Transmission Coordinator is expected to work within budget provided by or collaborated with sales team on all projects.
  • The Transmission Coordinator will work with all departments; Sales, Engineering, Production, MCR and Accounting to ensure accuracy of all bookings and ultimate success of projects from all aspects, scheduling, broadcast and accounting.

Position Requirements:
  • 1-3+ years experience and 4-year degree (or additional experience)
  • Works well under the pressure of Live Television
  • General understanding and experience with transmission and production
  • Team player and prepared to learn new skills, embrace, and nurture a culture of change and positive attitude.
  • Schedule flexibility with the ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English
  • Spanish skills beneficial
  • Sports fan and knowledge is a plus.

  • The Transmission Coordinator will be tasked to manage their own events, projects and or assigned clients' needs.
  • By 6-month assessment, The TCPM should be able to lead the Operations Department during busy workload days, covering for the Director of Operations who may be working remotely.
