Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex oncology needs.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs; anticipate and address discharge planning requirements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, update, and revise individualized plans of care, communicating relevant information to promote continuity of care.
  • Demonstrate competence in bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of patient care.
  • Participate in unit-level performance improvement activities, professional development, and cost-effective care initiatives.
  • Identify and address cultural, ethnic, and developmental factors affecting patient and family education and care planning.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing program.
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy certification.
