Task Force General Manager – Alaska

JL Hospitality Management is seeking an experienced and hands-on hospitality leader to join our growing Alaska portfolio as a Task Force General Manager. This role is ideal for a strong operator who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about supporting hotel teams across multiple locations.

This is a full-time Alaska-based position. Candidates must currently reside in Alaska or be willing to relocate full time. Relocation assistance may be offered for the right candidate.

The Task Force General Manager will serve as the acting General Manager during leadership vacancies, leaves of absence, hotel transitions, and operational support assignments throughout Alaska. When not assigned to a specific property, this individual will partner closely with the Alaska operations team on special projects, training initiatives, openings, audits, and operational support.

This position requires flexibility, strong leadership presence, and the ability to travel throughout Alaska as business needs arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide interim General Manager leadership at assigned hotels across the Alaska portfolio
  • Support day-to-day hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, sales, and guest service
  • Lead and develop hotel associates and department leaders
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, company SOPs, and operational expectations
  • Conduct property inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety, security, and service standards
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and revenue discussions
  • Support hotel openings, transitions, staffing challenges, and operational projects
  • Build strong partnerships with property leaders and corporate support teams
  • Foster a positive and accountable culture focused on guest satisfaction and associate engagement

Qualifications:

  • Previous General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience preferred
  • Marriott branded select-service hotel experience strongly preferred
  • Strong operational and financial acumen
  • Ability to lead in fast-paced and changing environments
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Alaska regularly
  • Experience with FOSSE PMS is a plus
