ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


John Hiester Automotive is currently seeking a full-time Vehicle Acquisition Specialist/ Automotive Buyer to join our winning team! In this role, you will:

  • Identify and acquire used vehicles through auctions, wholesale channels, dealer-to-dealer trades, private sellers, and other sources
  • Evaluate vehicle conditions, market demand, and profit potential
  • Maintain and grow vendor, auction, and wholesale relationships
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and product mix to meet inventory needs
  • Manage buying budgets and hit monthly acquisition targets
  • Coordinate transportation, logistics, and intake processes
  • Maintain accurate records and purchasing documentation
  • Represent the dealership group professionally with all partners and sellers

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Automotive buying, wholesale, or dealership experience required
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle makes, models, trim levels, and market valuations
  • Experience with auctions, ACV/Manheim/OVE/Smart Auction or similar platforms preferred
  • High-level negotiation skills and business decision-making ability
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Reliable, organized, and self-driven with strong communication skills
  • Passion for the automotive industry is a must
