Job description

  • Providing support to the Program Manager (PM) and contracting team by performing as a senior member of the Requirements Team
  • Translating operational mission needs into requirements artifacts across Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF) pathways (Major Capability Acquisition, Middle Tier of Acquisition, Software Acquisition, etc.), tailoring documentation to the selected pathway
  • Producing, editing, and organizing data for complex technical publications requiring deep understanding of space mission subject matter
  • Authoring, editing, and maintaining complex technical Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables
  • Coordinating publications and reports with PM, subject matter experts, and customer stakeholders as required
  • Managing schedules and tracking document delivery milestones
  • Maintaining and updating technical references/documents as subject matter evolves
  • Interviewing subject matter experts and integrating responses into technical, data-facility requirements documentation

  • Interviews subject matter experts and integrates responses into technical, data-facility requirements documentation, Demonstrates experience developing requirements under the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF), including pathway selection and tailored documentation
  • Bachelor's degree in space studies, engineering, intelligence, operations research, or a related technical field; qualifying experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis
  • Proven ability to interface directly with combatant command staff (Joint Directorates) and functional area managers to translate raw mission needs into AAF-aligned capability and requirements documents
  • Direct space mission experience totaling a minimum of 5 years and spanning at least 2 of the following mission areas: Command & Control (C2), Launch, Missile Warning, Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Space Domain Awareness (SDA), or Space Control
  • Interface directly with Combatant Command staff (Joint Directorates) or Functional Area Managers to translate raw mission needs into high-level capability documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict in a team environment

  • Deep familiarity with AAF policy and the DoDI 5000.02 series, including pathway selection criteria and tailored documentation
  • Experience with Digital Engineering and tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw for visualizing space architectures
  • Experience authoring Capability Needs Statements (CNS), Capability Requirements documents, ICDs/CDDs, and AAF acquisition strategy inputs
  • Experience with systems engineering

  • Travel within the Huntsville Alabama AOR, up to 50 miles daily, in support of US Space Command Operations
  • Travel to Colorado Springs Colorado up to 2 weeks per month as required
