Job description

This is a mid-level position, which under minimal supervision, plans, executes, and evaluates Beverage Equipment testing and data collection activities related to: product variants; field returns; NPI (New Product Introduction) verification and validation activities. This position is technical and hands on in nature and serves as a technical owner for assigned test systems, methods, or product area.

This onsite position, based in New Albany, IN, reports directly to the Dir Engineering.

Major Accountability:

  • Develop deep product and test-system knowledge, working safely and serving as a technical resource for lab testing activities.
  • Harvest data and share with requestor including observations and thoughts.
  •  Analyze test data, draw technical conclusions, and communicate results and recommendations to engineering and cross-functional stakeholders.
  •  Demonstrate advanced understanding of laboratory equipment and data acquisition systems and serve as a subject-matter expert for assigned tools or capabilities.
  • Ensure test accuracy, data integrity, and technical validity of results, exercising judgment on test sufficiency and risk.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with engineering, interpreting and executing Laboratory Test Requests.
  • Assist in testing and charging refrigeration systems.
  •  Configure, operate, and optimize Microsoft Office and National Instruments (NI) data acquisition systems; validate data quality and measurement accuracy
  • Help Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and electronic components
  • Assist in constructing lab test fixtures including plumbing and wiring, to support repeatable and reliable testing
  •  Interpret and apply wiring diagrams and schematics to support test setup, diagnostics, and modifications
  •  Establish and uphold lab standards, including cleanliness, tool organization, equipment functionality, and procedural documentation.

Education,  Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Trade School Certificate in HVACR, Appliances, Electronics, or related technical field preferred. Five (5) years of relevant handson experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Possess E.P.A Type I, II refrigerant handling certificate (or the acquisition of, within 1 year of hire).
  •  Demonstrate advanced proficiency and serve as a technical resource in at least one of the following specialized areas:  Refrigeration Design; Electronics & Controls; National Instruments Data Acquisition; System level Electrical Theory; Brazing/Soldering.
  •  Demonstrate ongoing professional growth, technical leadership, and active participation in team knowledge sharing and mentoring of less experienced staff.
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time.
  • Environment; Ability to stand & walk on concrete 100% of the day, ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, lift and carry 35 lbs.
