Job Title: Quality Assurance Director
Job Type: Contractor
Program: QA Department
Position Summary: In this role, you will director the quality assurance process to ensure compliance with documentation standards, timelines, accreditation, and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include director annual and semi-annual evaluations, supervising quality assurance manager and staff, assessing the implementation and effectiveness of quality systems, analyzing data for continuous improvement, and developing corrective action plans. Additionally, you will prepare comprehensive reports, facilitate quality assurance training sessions, lead agency audits, and manage coverage coordination during leave periods. The QA Director leads audits, tracks performance metrics, supports staff training on compliance issues, and collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders to promote a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibility:
Quality Improvement & Compliance Oversight
• Design and manage an agency-wide quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) program.
• Lead preparation and ongoing compliance efforts for accreditation bodies (e.g., CARF).
• Analyze trends in performance data and propose quality improvement initiatives.
Policies, Procedures & Risk Management
  • Develop and update agency policies and procedures in collaboration with leadership to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Review incident reports and adverse events, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Data & Reporting
  • Manage tracking systems and dashboards for key performance indicators (KPIs), including timeliness of documentation, client satisfaction, discharge planning, and audit findings.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual quality reports for leadership and Board of Directors, when applicable

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team, actively contributing to strategic planning and organizational development.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders during audits, accreditation surveys, and funding reviews.
  • Lead or participate in committees focused on compliance, safety, utilization review, and service delivery enhancement.
  • Complete annual and semi-annual evaluations on supervises
  • Ensure compliance with documentation and timelines and follow corrective action plans when needed.
  • Provide oversight to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards and procedures.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, training and retention of quality assurance staff.
  • Supervision and evaluation of quality assurance staff
  • Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems.
  • Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system.
  • Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities.
  • Monitoring Key Performance Indicators o) Ensure meeting minutes are completed and filed.
  • Facilitates training quality assurance training meetings.
  • Facilitates or oversees Quality Assurance Trainings as needed.
  • Review information and make recommendations.
  • Lead Agency Audits for departments.
  • Coordinate coverage with Business Continuity Plan (BCP) individuals, including updating.
  • BCP plan that provides necessary information to fulfill duties, and any upcoming tasks during leave.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualification and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in health administration, Public Health, Behavioral Health, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare quality assurance, compliance, or performance improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of state-specific regulations (e.g., COMAR), Medicaid rules, and accreditation standards (e.g., CARF, The Joint Commission).
  • Experience conducting audits, analyzing data, and leading quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
