The position may be assigned to support highvisibility or strategically significant negotiations, including resolving complex contractual issues and facilitating conflict resolution among internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities may also include driving subcontractor accountability by overseeing performance, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and implementing corrective actions when necessary to protect company interests and maintain program execution.
The Subcontract Manager will also contribute to the development and refinement of subcontracting processes, templates, and tools and support efforts to integrate sourcing and subcontracting activities into Redwire's Digital Engineering Environment. As the company scales, this position offers opportunity for expanded scope and growth within the Supply Chain organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Award & Proposal Support
  • Draft, negotiate, and execute pre-award documentation, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and Teaming Agreements (TAs) with strategic partners.
  • Issue Requests for Information (RFIs) and pricing data calls to potential subcontractors to support proposal development.
  • Collaborate with Capture and Proposal Managers to integrate subcontractor pricing, past performance, and technical inputs into prime proposals.
Subcontract Formation and Negotiation
  • Develop and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and bid-package documentation required for subcontract formation and prime proposal development.
  • Review and analyze subcontractor proposals, including fact-finding and cost/price evaluations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Negotiate pricing, schedule, terms and conditions, and contractual requirements with suppliers.
  • Prepare, draft, and finalize subcontract agreements, amendments, and flow-down requirements consistent with prime contract obligations.
Subcontract Administration and Compliance
  • Maintain complete and compliant subcontract files, ensuring documentation meets audit requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, coordinate delivery milestones, and resolve contractual or performance issues.
  • Prepare contractual correspondence, corrective action and cure notices, reports, and internal updates.
  • Ensure adherence to FAR/DFARS and export control (ITAR/EAR) regulations.
Program, Business Development, and Engineering Coordination
  • Interface with Program Management to provide updates on subcontract status, schedule drivers, and supplier impacts.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to understand technical requirements, long-lead considerations, and supplier inquiries.
  • Support alignment of subcontracting activities with program and enterprise objectives.
Digital Engineering and Process Integration
  • Contribute to integrating subcontracting and sourcing workflows, documentation, and templates into Redwire's Digital Engineering Environment.
  • Participate in process development initiatives, supporting creation and maintenance of standardized forms, templates, and job aids.
  • Provide functional input into continuous improvement initiatives across the Supply Chain organization.
Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8 or more years of subcontracting, procurement, or supply chain experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting government proposal development, including drafting Teaming Agreements, executing pricing data calls, and supporting proposal Cost/Price volumes
  • Experience preparing solicitations, evaluating proposals, and negotiating subcontracts.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and related compliance frameworks.
  • Experience working with Business Development, Capture, Program Management, and Engineering organizations.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems; Costpoint preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship required; eligibility for a security clearance may be required.
  • Willing and able to travel for site visits, meetings and conferences.
