Job description

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH)in Bolivar, Missouri, is hiring aDirector for our Accounting Department. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 Long-Term Care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, therapies and more, CMH has its community covered! 

About the area:Located in the heart of the Ozarks, our main campus in Bolivar has a hometown feel and affordable housing options of rentals or apartments. About the department:The goal of the Accounting Department is to coordinate with all CMH departments to obtain and produce financial information for use by managerial / supervisory staff that will enhance their ability to make managerial decisions and to produce required reports for outside agencies. 

A typical daywill include:Overseeing financial reporting and data management, and managing daily billing and payroll to include oversight of payroll, accounts payable, and accounting while ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, GASB and FASB, and optimizing revenue strategies across departments.  

  • Supervises department staff, including hiring, training, and completing monthly rounding and annual performance evaluations 
  • Assists with processing accounts payable and payroll issues, policies and initiatives, and preparation of reports 
  • Assists with online banking functions to monitor and transfer funds, update deposits, approve payments, and record balances 
  • Monitors billings from vendors for services, including telephone, long distance, cell phones, copiers and benefits 
  • Works collaboratively with the Chief Financial Officer and other leaders to assure seamless accounting processes are completed within the required timelines for auditors, administration, and the board 

Job Requirements: 

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting  
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and data processing/payroll required; management experience preferred 
  • Skills: Cross-functional communication, process improvement, leadership 
  • Licensure/Certification:Certified Public Accountant  
  • Physical:Ability to sit for prolonged periods performing computer tasks 

This position is:Full-time, Monday – Friday
