We are working with an organization in the Atlanta area seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who can quickly step in to support month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting accounting operations, and assisting with process improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger activity
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Analyze financial data and identify variances or trends
- Assist with audit support and documentation requests
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting operations
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required
