Department of Accountancy
Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is inviting applications for tenure-track faculty positions in its highly ranked Department of Accountancy. The Department seeks outstanding candidates at the rank of assistant professor in any area of accountancy teaching and research. Appointments will begin in Summer or Fall 2026. These are full-time academic positions.
The Department of Accountancy offers a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Master of Accounting Science, Master of Science in Accountancy (available both in-person and online), and a PhD in Accountancy. Renowned for its leadership in data analytics education, the Department is home to the University of Illinois-Deloitte Foundation Center for Business Analytics, which develops and disseminates cutting-edge analytics curricula to faculty, students, and professionals globally.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels
-Tenure-track faculty are expected to conduct research in Accountancy
-Senior faculty are expected to provide leadership in the department, the university and in the Accountancy discipline.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess a PhD degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related fields. Candidates must have strong research as well as demonstrated teaching effectiveness and leadership potential commensurate with the position sought.
PROPOSED STARTING DATE: July 16, 2026, or August 16, 2026.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 7/17/2026. The budgeted salary range for this position is $250,000 to $260,000. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, rank, and experience while considering internal equity. This position is eligible for sponsorship for work authorization, except for sponsorship of a new H1B petition that would incur the $100,000 fee.
