Job description

The Accounting Manager will assist the Corporate Controller in directing the financial activities of dedicated hotels and various other entities, safeguards the assets and prepare all financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and appropriate time frames. The ideal candidate would be able to assist with leadership and supervision of entire Accounting team and achievement of department and hotel goals. The position is an in-office position and will report to the satellite office, located in Charlotte, NC.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of effective internal control procedures to safeguard Company's assets (such as but not limited to inventory control, cash drop procedures, F&B check controls…)
  • Monitor proper accounting of assets and liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of weekly/monthly reports such as Report of Operations and other financial reports.
  • Responsible for all functions required for our full cycle Accounts Payable and utilization of Birch Street and Great Plains systems incl. vendor statement reconciliation.
  • Assist in hiring, training, supervising and evaluating accounting team members in conjunction with the Corporate Controller and assume responsibilities during team members’ absence.
  • Monitor and assist in the completion of daily accounting procedures assigned to the entire team.                                  
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of Government and Corporate Tax reports and licenses
  • Assist and actively participate in the preparation of Preliminary, Annual, Monthly Forecast, and Capital Budget.
  • Assist team members within hotel departments as needed with required accounting procedures, status of pending transactions or any other necessary information.
  • In conjunction with the Controller, identify areas of opportunities to streamline existing tasks and identify areas of cost reduction opportunities while maintaining financial integrity.

WHAT WE NEED:

  • Three years of prior Hotel Accounting experience as an established Assistant Controller or Assistant Director of Finance or Assistant Accounting Manager
  • Ability to support the team with their daily work, if needed
