Our client is a well-established, privately held organization with a strong reputation in the Pacific Northwest. They are looking for an experienced Sr. Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller to join their leadership team and play a hands-on role in strengthening the accounting function, improving processes, and supporting an ongoing ERP transformation.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the general accounting and month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee core accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, cash applications, inventory, fixed assets, and lease accounting.
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Lead the annual financial statement audit and support technical accounting research and documentation.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the general accounting team.
  • Drive accountability, process improvements, and operational efficiency across the accounting function.
  • Play a key role in an ongoing ERP upgrade and related system integrations.
  • Partner with internal teams to improve accounting technology, reporting, and processes.
  • Support budgeting, variance analysis, internal controls, and ad hoc financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the close process and improve the overall accounting operation.


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or accounting leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, and general accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop an accounting team.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting systems/technology.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Someone who is hands-on, accountable, proactive, and comfortable solving problems independently.


Preferred:

  • Public accounting experience
  • CPA or CMA
  • ERP implementation or upgrade experience
