Accounting Manager

Aurora, IL | Full-Time | In Office

Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 + Discretionary Bonus

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on while taking ownership of key accounting functions.

The Accounting Manager will play an important role in day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, job costing, and the month-end close process. This position offers meaningful responsibility and long-term growth within a stable organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help oversee daily accounting operations and support the accounting team
  • Manage accounts receivable invoicing and collections
  • Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger activity
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Manage job cost analysis and construction-related financial reporting
  • Maintain work-in-progress schedules and support percentage-of-completion accounting
  • Oversee fixed assets and corporate insurance administration
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes and improve efficiencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Construction or contracting industry experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
  • Payroll experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • CPA is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
