Job Title: Senior Associate Accountant / Accounting Manager

Role Type: Full Time

Location: Chicago, IL

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite)


Position Summary

Our client, is seeking a hands-on Senior Associate Accountant / Accounting Manager to join its growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the day-to-day accounting function while working in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong public accounting foundation, excellent reconciliation and month-end close experience, and the ability to work independently while supporting continuous process improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
  • Perform bookkeeping and day-to-day accounting functions.
  • Analyze financial information and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Support financial reporting and audit activities.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support accounting operations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Public accounting experience required.
  • Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience.
  • Solid bookkeeping and general accounting knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of month-end close processes.
  • Client Advisory Services (CAS) experience is a plus.
  • Nonprofit experience is not required.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Stable work history and strong attention to detail.
