Your Role
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the financial reporting for the agency and supervision of the accounting department staff.
Responsibilities
• Manages the preparation of the financial statements for submission to administration, Board of Directors, and required governmental agencies to meet established deadlines and quality, including maintaining monthly journal files and supporting documentation.
• Oversees the management of the Agency cash accounts making sure all necessary transfers are made to ensure enough coverage for payroll and A/P requirements.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting, onboarding, and training employees, performance management; and conflict resolution.
• Prepares monthly financial statement variance analysis and explanations. Follow up on significant variances with agency staff.
• Responsible for reviewing all the month-end financial reports to ensure every report reconcile to each other.
• Supervises the monthly allocation process and the preparation and distribution of all the month-end financial reports.
• Prepares assigned account reconciliations, research variance, and prepare related journal entries. Provide recommendations for process improvements, as needed.
• Prepares and provide required documentation for the various financial audits done annually in a timely manner.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. CPA preferred.
• Proficient in AICPA accounting standards.
• Five (5) years’ experience with accounting functions and operations.
• Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Successful experience working in an organized and goal directed team environment.
• Proficient in the use of computers, software applications, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Valid driver’s license and documentation of current auto insurance, with an acceptable motor vehicle report.
