The Staff Accountant will support CoinFlip's accounting function with a focus on cryptocurrency-related transactions, monthly close processes, and account reconciliations. This role works closely with the broader Accounting & Finance team and plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy of financial data across CoinFlip's digital asset operations and ATM network.


Responsibilities:

Crypto Accounting & Digital Asset Management

  • Prepare and maintain monthly rollforwards for BTC, ETH, LTC, and other supported digital assets.
  • Reconcile wallet balances to blockchain data and internal subledgers.
  • Perform wallet data cleanup, validation, and exception resolution.
  • Process and account for crypto donations, rewards, and incentives.
  • Perform fair market value (FMV) calculations and remeasurements for digital asset holdings.
  • Support position checks and proof-of-reserves style reconciliations.
  • Record and reconcile hardware wallet activity, including Trezor and cold storage.

Financial Close & Reporting

  • Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Support flux analysis and variance explanations.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist in preparing financial reporting schedules and audit support packages.
  • Assist with monthly closing processes and financial statement preparation.

Process & Collaboration

  • Develop spreadsheet reports, verify information, and reconcile accounts.
  • Analyze current accounting policies and procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to SOP development and support cross-functional teams on accounting processes.
  • Respond to information requests and research accounting and financial questions.
  • Collaborate with other departments on special projects.
  • Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • At least one year of related accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain fundamentals (required - this role is focused on digital asset accounting).
  • Understanding of GAAP and general financial accounting principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with NetSuite or similar ERP preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Passion for fintech and the evolving cryptocurrency landscape.
  • Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, or similar data/BI tools.
  • Exposure to multi-entity or international accounting environments.

Compensation:

Annual Base Salary: $13,000-$21,000 USD
