Accounting Associate II

Location: Santee, CA Job Type: Full-Time | Hourly | Non-Exempt

FLORES is seeking an Accounting Associate II to join our Accounting Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled bookkeeper or accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with multiple clients, and takes pride in delivering accurate financial reporting with exceptional customer service.

As an Accounting Associate II, you'll serve as the accounting lead for your assigned clients, managing their financial operations while partnering with both clients and internal teams to deliver outstanding results.

What You'll Do

As an Accounting Associate II, you will:

  • Manage the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of clients
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Process Accounts Payable, credit card reconciliations, sales tax, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Perform account audits and ensure financial accuracy
  • Maintain fixed assets, prepaid schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, and 1099 compliance
  • Create custom financial reports and dashboards for clients
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Troubleshoot accounting issues while providing exceptional client support
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency
  • Mentor and train fellow accounting team members
  • Collaborate with Accounting Managers on projects and departmental initiatives

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and federal and state accounting requirements
  • Experience working within ERP systems and maintaining strong internal controls
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
