Accounting Specialist - Baltimore, MD
About the Company and Accounting Specialist Opportunity:

  • CFS is partnering with a repeat client to hire an Accounting Specialist to join their small accounting team
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm in Baltimore, MD
  • Reports to the Accounting Manager
  • Salary: $55,000-$65,000

Job Duties for the Accounting Specialist:

  • Handle accounting email inbox and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Review invoices for accuracy, assign appropriate codes, and enter invoices into the accounting system
  • Ensure invoices have proper manager approval
  • Organize and execute payments to vendors on schedule
  • Communicate with vendors to address questions, discrepancies, or delays, and resolve any issues
  • Reconcile vendor accounts, petty cash, credit cards, and daily bank activity
  • Support sales tax reporting and ensure compliance with filing requirements
  • Process employee reimbursements
  • Prepare batches of payments and monitor payment timelines
  • Maintain organized transaction records for audit purposes
  • Monitor and track receivables, ensuring invoices are correctly recorded and maintain accurate AR reports
  • Review daily revenue entries from accounting software
  • Create cash flow reports to help forecast funding needs
