Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join an organization in Oregon. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent position is well suited for someone who is early in their accounting career and eager to build hands-on experience in both accounts payable and payroll support. The role focuses on accurate data entry, invoice processing, and assisting with recurring payroll activities across multiple locations in a fast-moving environment.


Responsibilities:

• Enter and review accounting data with a strong focus on precision and completeness.

• Support accounts payable operations by coding invoices, preparing them for processing, and helping manage weekly invoice volume.

• Assist with check runs on a regular schedule to help ensure vendors are paid on time.

• Provide backup support for payroll processing for employees across store locations and the distribution center.

• Help prepare and process final paychecks for employee separations in accordance with timing requirements.

• Maintain organized financial records and documentation for invoices, payments, and payroll-related activity.


• Experience with accounts payable, payroll support, or general accounting tasks is preferred; entry-level candidates with strong aptitude are welcome.

• Ability to code invoices accurately and manage detailed numeric data entry.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for basic tracking, review, and data handling.

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy over speed.
