Management of Accounting and Financial Reporting Functional Supervision of Statewide Corrections Accounting Services Management Consulting Projects, Internal Auditing, and Other Duties Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Preparation of complex annual financial statements Trains staff in the performance of job duties, assigns and reviews the work of staff, and ensures accuracy of the department's output. Employee will work with Accountant Manager 3 Employee will supervise two Accountant 3s Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Promotion of a permanent, classified employee of LA DPS&C - CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC) The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted, or may be required to accept a probational appointment.

Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $30.43 per hour. Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career and NOT the amount we are allowed to pay a new hire. Other Important Information: IMPORTANT: In the supplemental questions section, applicants must authorize the HR Office of DPS&C-Corrections Services to contact prior employers to check references under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), to be considered for employment, by answering 'YES' to the PREA question
