POSITION SUMMARY

Join our dynamic team as an Account Strategist at Varsity, where your passion for marketing meets a cause-driven mission. As part of the Pavone Group, we specialize in transforming the marketing landscape for senior living communities, CCRCs, and assisted living facilities.


Your role will be pivotal in crafting strategies that resonate with and inspire retirement communities. Our environment is warm, curious, innovative, and empathetic, making it the perfect setting for those eager to make a meaningful impact.


The Account Strategist manages, leads, and orchestrates integrated campaigns and projects from start to finish while serving as the daily point of contact for clients - owning the client relationship, managing all account activity, and building strong, trust-based partnerships. Builds trust with both the agency team and client contacts.


This role will be Hybrid from a Pavone Office- Harrisburg, Philadelphia or Atlanta. (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Account Leadership & Strategic Directio

  • Vision & Alignment: Partner with clients and cross-functional agency teams to establish and maintain the strategic direction for each account.
  • Business Drivers: Deeply understand the core dynamics, competitive landscapes, and overarching drivers of the client's business.
  • Strategic Briefing: Author comprehensive strategic, creative, and communications briefs in tandem with clients and internal departments (planning, media, and PR); secure alignment and approvals across all teams.
  • Strategic Guidance: Synthesize qualitative research and performance metrics to provide actionable strategic guidance both internally and externally.
  • Growth & New Business: Identify organic growth opportunities within existing accounts and actively assist with new business pitches and agency initiatives as assigned.

Client & Project Management

  • Expectation Management: Oversee the lifecycle of agency work to ensure client brand objectives are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture collaborative relationships with clients, internal execution teams, and external vendors or strategic partners.
  • Communication & Delivery: Streamline client feedback loops, manage approvals, and ensure alignment between client mandates and internal delivery.
  • Scope Integrity: Define, document, and communicate clear project scopes, drafting precise work orders to protect agency resources.

Meeting & Workflow Excellence

  • Facilitate productive client touchpoints by preparing comprehensive agendas and distributing precise, actionable meeting notes and roundtable takeaways.
  • Knowledge Application: Leverage the agency's full portfolio of specialized offerings to solve complex client business challenges.
  • Asset Stewardship: Ensure all critical documentation and major brand assets are current, securely organized, and compliant with data management policies.

Fiscal Responsibility & Operations

  • Financial Health: Monitor account profitability and share fiscal accountability for portfolio health alongside the Account Director and Project Manager.
  • Financial Operations: Coordinate client billing schedules and monitor payment status to support optimal agency cash flow.
  • Resource Optimization: Collaboratively align with project and resource management teams to ensure appropriate talent allocation for client objectives. 
  • Conflict Resolution: Proactively recognize and efficiently resolve internal or external misalignments or delivery conflicts.
  • Administrative Compliance: Complete accurate daily timesheets and submit expense documentation in a timely, compliant monthly manner.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of progressive advertising or marketing agency experience preferred.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to confidently articulate strategic concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical & Analytical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with modern office productivity suites (Google Workspace/Microsoft 365) and enterprise project management tools. 
  • Strong comfort level translating data analytics and navigating emerging media ecosystems into business insights.
  • Execution & Detail: Critical attention to detail with proven organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-start, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and work cohesively within hybrid teams.
  • Agency Grit: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing daily operational agility with long-term process optimization and scalability.
