Job Title: Key Account Project Manager

Department: Implementation

This senior-level position is responsible for supporting Key Account Managers in the development, coordination, and execution of complex customer projects and account initiatives.


The role partners closely with Key Account Managers on customer calls, presentations, needs analysis, solution development, proposal preparation, and ongoing project execution for strategic accounts.


This position serves as a key liaison across customers, sales, project management, and internal operational teams to ensure high-quality customer experience and successful delivery.


OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Key Account Managers in overseeing projects across assigned strategic accounts
  • Serve as a day-to-day liaison between the customer, Key Account Manager, and internal teams
  • Maintain a strong understanding of customer priorities, account plans, and industry offerings
  • Partner with Key Account Managers to assess customer needs and help develop tailored solutions
  • Support customer-facing meetings, site visits, and presentations with Key Account Managers as needed, including regular travel to customer jobsites and headquarters.
  • Responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and aligned to customer expectations
  • Coordinate internal resources and external partners to support smooth execution across multiple account initiatives
  • Assist in developing proposals, presentations, and customer-facing materials for key accounts
  • Gather and clarify customer requirements, timelines, and project expectations
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans, action logs, and follow-up items for open workstreams
  • Track scope, schedule, risks, and changes while keeping Key Account Managers informed of progress
  • Support strong customer relationships through proactive communication and follow-through
  • Identify project risks and escalation needs and partner with the Key Account Manager on resolution plans
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate documentation, account records, and project status updates
  • Adhere to company project management and account support processes
  • Review completed work to identify and document lessons learned and process improvement opportunities
  • Share project updates, customer insights, and best practices with the broader project management and sales teams
  • Participate in internal initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed
  • Support high-complexity projects and strategic customer initiatives
  • Provide guidance and support to peers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Take on additional responsibilities that strengthen support for key accounts and customer outcomes
  • Build strong partnerships with key customer and vendor contacts
  • Navigate order, financial, and operational processes that impact project and account execution
  • Lead or support design, implementation, and status calls with customers, vendors, and internal teams


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across customers, projects, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage critical deadlines and budgets
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Ability to work through customer and project issues in a timely, solutions-oriented manner
  • Strong technical and systems aptitude with proficiency in relevant business software and tools
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Smartsheet, and other tools used to manage projects and customer communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across customer, sales, and internal teams
  • Ability to learn, apply, and adapt to new technologies, products, and processes, including AI tools when relevant.
  • Strong understanding of project coordination, customer support, and integrated solution environments
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, customer service, and execution excellence

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of project management, account support, or related experience
  • Industry certifications are beneficial but not required
