AES Drilling Fluids is seeking an Account Manager at our Houston Office. The Account Manager is responsible for managing customer accounts and contracts, developing and supporting special projects with customers, and implementing sales strategies to identify, secure, and develop new customers and to increase existing sales.

WORK LOCATION: Houston, TX


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads sales efforts for assigned Company customers and accounts, develops sales strategies for existing and prospective customers, and markets/sells AES products and services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Supports existing business on core customer accounts by developing and executing account-specific plans.
  • Manages customer interactions and expectations to ensure that all requirements are met and, preferably, exceeded, through direct contact with customers, AES engineering and all other Company personnel in customer service-related functions (i.e., R&D, laboratory, supply chain, quality, and operations).
  • Collaborates with drilling fluids engineers, engineering field supervisors, and engineering manager(s) to provide expert advice and trouble-shooting concerning client problems, concerns, and questions, when and as needed.
  • Develops sales proposals, reports, and sales-related information for existing and prospective customers and presents and explains proposals, reports, and findings to existing and prospective customers.
  • Maintains and builds strong relationships with customers at all levels of their organizations.
  • Consults with customers to prepare drilling fluids engineering specifications and programs and proactively assesses and communicates customer-specific needs to AES engineering, operations, and management.
  • Coordinates with the Company’s management to prepare and present proposals, bids, and tenders and assists AES management in negotiating service agreements and pricing, when and as needed.
  • Effectively uses tools to manage and build customer relationships, including entertainment, business calls, technical support, conferences, and other appropriate outreach.
  • Remains continually abreast of changes, technology, and trends that can lead to improvements in AES products and services.
  • Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of Company products and services.
  • Supports and participates in AES’s continual improvement program in conformity with ISO requirements.
  • Conducts special projects and all other duties as assigned by the Technical Sales and Support Manager and/or divisional management.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or GED; Associate’s or Technical Degree in Engineering, Chemistry (or other degree relevant to the position) is preferred.

2. Successful completion of an AES-approved mud school.

3. Mus have drilling fluids experience in one of the following regions: STX, ETX/NLA, or OK.

4. At least eight (8) combined years of prior hands-on experience as a drilling fluids engineer or in a technical advisor role.

5. Substantial prior sales, business development, and/or marketing work experience in the drilling fluids or oilfield service industry is preferred.

6. Valid driver’s license and the maintenance of a driving record satisfactory to AES.

7. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (including strong Microsoft Excel skills) and Outlook, and strong internet research skills.
